The 2024 Triennale "2050: Changing Views" opened in Vaduz on Saturday, August 5th!
For this fourth edition, 45 artists from Visarte Liechtenstein, the Professional Association of Visual Artists Liechtenstein established in 2016, are taking part in this year's triennial and will be exhibiting their works at eight different venues.
This year's theme "2050: Changing Views" invites artists and audiences to reflect on how the world might look and function in 2050. An artists' collective has collaborated to explore the skills and habits that will be necessary or obsolete by then, creating a mix of collective and individual artworks. The event aims to provoke discussions on sustainability, future societal needs, and the habits we might need to leave behind.
The Triennale Liechtenstein is a notable art project in collaboration with the municipal cultural institutions Kunstraum Engländerbau and Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, focusing on contemporary art, design, and architecture. The event, which occurs every three years, provides a platform for artists, designers, architects, and creatives to present their work, engage in cultural exchange, and explore new trends in these fields. It aims to showcase innovative and thought-provoking projects, often featuring both local and international participants.
The result is an intriguing exhibition that increasingly places Liechtenstein at the center of the contemporary art world. For art enthusiasts, the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein is simultaneously offering two must-see exhibitions. The first is dedicated to Barry Le Va, the late American artist known as one of the pioneers of Process Art, titled "In the State of Flux". The second exhibition, "The Whole Palette", features works from the Hilti Art Foundation, with twenty-four of a total of forty pieces being shown to the public for the first time in a Hilti Art Foundation exhibition.
