Light and shadow in the Engadine with Segantini

Exploring light in the Engadine: a joint exhibition of art, architecture, and philosophy.

This summer, in an extraordinary collaboration, 14 different cultural institutions in Engadine—from Maloja to S-chanf, passing by St. Moritz, from Samedan to the Bernina Pass—delve into the multifaceted theme of light.

This joint exhibition spans diverse fields: art, architecture, language, philosophy, and alpinism, with each cultural institution offering a unique perspective on the theme of light, from the sun's radiance to the contrast between natural and artificial illumination. Visitors will encounter a range of exhibits: from alpine light phenomena and the design of health resorts to literary explorations of light, the enchantment of darkness, digital immersions, and the interplay of light and shadow.

This collective exhibition invites you to explore the rich cultural landscape of the Upper Engadine, shedding light on how this extraordinary region continues to inspire across various domains.

Below are the exhibitions that are part of the "Light and Shadow" exhibition:

Between one excursion and another, don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the light of Engadine as interpreted by numerous artists throughout history.
