Presence of Swiss Art in Villa Croce Contemporary Art Museum in Genoa

A Celebration of Swiss Artistic Heritage in Genoa's Premier Art Institution

The Villa Croce Contemporary Art Museum in Genoa, in collaboration with the Art Commission Cultural Promotion Association and MAIIIM (Media Art III Millennium), is displaying works by Swiss artists from heritage collections this summer. The exhibition "Presence of Swiss Art in the Collection of the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce" highlights the strong ties and fruitful collaborations that Genoa and its museum have always maintained with Switzerland.

The museum's collection includes works by some of the most significant Swiss artists, starting with historical figures like Jean Arp, Camille Graeser, and Richard Paul Lohse, founder of the Swiss concretist group Allianz in 1937. It also features pieces from the next generation, such as Megert, Glattfelder, and Mattes, and contemporary research by De Luca, Michel, and Repetto, along with an unusual artist like Legnani, Swiss by birth. In the external park area, on the southern side, you can admire the large sculpture by Bucher, set against the backdrop of the sea and the new dam.

The Villa Croce exhibition is part of the VI edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Art "The Latitudes of Art", which this year features an artistic exchange with Switzerland.

At the Villa Croce Contemporary Art Museum in Genoa until 8 September 2024.
